Momentum Builder Agreement

Momentum welcomes the opportunity to provide you and your company with verification services for the ENERGY STAR program. We have a proven track record and years of experience in providing energy efficiency services.

Typically a home will require 3 inspections when using Building Option Package 1 (BOP 1). These inspections include the following:

Rough In Inspection

  • Perform duct blaster – determines that duct leakage falls within required parameters
  • Inspect energy seal – ensure all penetrations are caulked and/or foam filled

Building Envelope Inspection

  • Verify correct R-Values
  • Check for gaps and voids
  • Confirm that cavities have been filled with insulation
  • Verify window qualifications – backer rod, U factor under.30

Final Inspection – Envelope, HVAC & Lighting

  • Verify furnace qualifications and filtering system
  • Check required attic insulation is installed properly
  • Check crawl space – insulation and vapor barrier installed properly
  • Verify heat pump meets HSPF & SEER (AC SEER Only) requirements
  • Verify water heater efficient factor of at least .61 gas / .93 electric
  • Verify 80% of the lighting is ENERGY STAR
  • Perform blower door test

If additional inspections are required, Momentum will notify builder of possible fees. These fees are defined in the pricing schedule below.

Momentum’s invoice plan

  • 40% upon receipt of project initiation form
  • Balance upon completion of each home

Price Schedule

Certification

  • ENERGY STAR Certification – Homes under 8,000 SQFT – $500*
  • ENERGY STAR Certification – Homes over 8,000 SQFT – $1,050*
  • ENERGY STAR Certification – Homeowner/Builder – $850*

*Upon certification, builder is required to pay $75 ENERGY STAR certification fee to Washington State Energy Extension Program.

Individual Testing

  • Additional System Test (houses with more than 1 HVAC system) – $75
  • Blower Door Test – $150
  • Duct Blaster Test – $150
  • Duct Blaster Test & Energy Seal Inspection – $150
  • Energy Seal Inspection – $75
  • Insulation Inspection – $75
  • Thermal Boundary Inspection – $75
  • Water Management Inspection – $100
  • airPLUS Test – $150
  • Tru Flow Plate Air Flow Test – $125

Call Backs

  • Inspection Called In – But Job Not Ready – $50
  • Re-inspection of ENERGY STAR measure that failed initial inspection – $50

Additional Education

  • Critical Details Training Class – $500
  • Realtor Training (fee per hour) – $100
  • Consulting Review Plans or BOP (fee per hour) – $100
  • Open House – Momentum Certified Rater will attend Open House for 2 Hours – $85

Trip Charges (for job-sites over 15 miles one way)

  • Miles Round Trip from Boise to Job Site: IRS Standard Rate – $0.55
  • Travel Time Round Trip from Boise to Job Site (fee per hour) – $25

Past Due Invoices: If payment is not received within 30 days from invoice date, no additional services will be rendered until the account is brought current.
